HSBC Business Banking Security Token

Recently my laptop had to be emergency reinstalled and I lost the security certificate issued to me by HSBC Business Internet Banking, on trying to re-register I was told that security certificates had been phased out and I would instead receive a physical security token within 10 working days. All credit to HSBC, the device turned up two days later (today)!
The device is quite small, and it generates a code when the small grey button is pressed. Now we finally have this “two factor” authentication that internet banks have been talking about for a while, I wonder if it will have an impact on the losses internet banks are taking from phishing.
